COURSE DESCRIPTION:
Successful completion of the following courses:
Jewelry Basics - Design and Repair, Stone Setting, Advanced Diamond Setting, Wax Design and Casting, Platinum Skills, Diamond Expert Seminar, Diamond Grading, Colored Gem Stones and ASJ Certified Jeweler Technician

Additional practice of stone setting (50 projects)
These projects are practical exercises of all setting styles performed during the prescribed diamond setting and gem stone setting classes.
Many of the pieces handled in this segment must be created by the student.
Additional practice of jewelry work, repairs, assembling and finishing ring sizing with increasing degrees of difficulty.
Stone matching and replacing.
Replacement and repair of hinges and locks.
Additional practice of platinum related work.
Ring sizing, design and construction.
Additional practice of gem stone identification and diamond grading with hands-on identification of a minimum of 100 stones.
Interactive sales training with hands-on costing and appraising.
Externship or internship
The externship will temporarily place the student in a jewelry store environment by providing financial help to the employer in order to aid in the completion for the training of the student.
In the event that the externship cannot be obtained, the school will provide the student with real life projects and repairs.
These projects must be completed in a commercially acceptable time frame.
Student will receive pay for these projects.
Test and evaluation

CSMJ 101       Length of course: 1650 Clock Hours
Prerequisite: High School Diploma or successfully passing the Jewelry I - Design and Repair course, or the Basic Skills Test

Objectives:
This class is intended for those students that wish to acquire the skill for managing and directing a storefront as well as a designing studio or a shop with multiple personnel.
In order to qualify for this program, the applicant must have a high school diploma or equivalent and/or be able to demonstrate that he/she is capable of learning by successfully completing and passing our "basic skills test" and/or complete our Jewelry I - Design and Repair course.
At the end of this program the student will be proficient in all aspects of jewelry making, repairing and designing, jewelry appraising, gemstone identification and diamond grading and store management.
This program also offers placement through internship and or externship.
