COURSE DESCRIPTION:
This class introduces the student to the most popular colored stones on the market and the instruments necessary to identify and separate from each other. Special attention is given to the characteristics of the stones that may require special precautions to be taken by the bench jewelers. The student is also introduced to the various synthetic and imitation stones and how to separate these "fabulous fakes" from their natural counterparts.
